Specs Question

Post by bob453 »

Hello Everyone,

Bit of a stupid question really, but I've got to ask because I can't get a straight answer anywhere.

I've just bought a 1998 Nubira SX Eurowagon, in the understanding that it has a 2.0 engine. I was told that by the seller and it was printed on the official registration papers for the car. Well, 18900, to be exact.

However, after looking at the car's handbook, the engine diagram there denotes that it's a 1.6 because the position of the parts differ in the 2.0 diagram.

I can't find any markings on the engine or surrounds which denote the engine size.

Does anyone know how I could find out?

Thanks for your help.

B.

If your oil fill cap is on the top of the engine cover to the bottom right, you have the 1.6L. If it is in the middle of the engine at the top, you have the 2.0L

Thanks folks.

The pic in the manual shows it to be the 1.6. Also, the oil fill cap is as it would be with the 1.6. But, I contacted GM Daewoo, here in Australia, and they said that there was a 1.6 and a 1.8. They didn't mention a 2.0.

It just feels a little too powerful to be a 1.6, and has already done 250,000 Kms. But I'd like to know for sure. Man, it's confusing.

Thanks,

B :D

thanks for those pics. champion!
It certainly looks more like the 1.6. I'm just really confused as to why the GM Daewoo folks said there was a 1.8 version! :?
Anyway, I'll keep trying. Thanks :D

the nubi all over the world has the 1.6l, 1.8l, and 2.0l. just depends on your location on which one you might have.

Hey Nick, thanks. Any idea about what the 1.8L looks like? I wonder if it more closely resembles the 1.6, or the 2.0.
Thanks,
