Brake light.

I have a 99 Lanos 1.5, manual transmission.
The brake light comes on when I accelerate hard, usually in first and second gear. What could the problem be? I think it might be that my brake fluid is getting low, it?s not below the minimum mark but its pretty close.

that probably it then.

when you speed up the fluid goes to one side and the meter reads it wrong

When the brake fluid down is time to change the brake pads

not necessarly... the fluid level will drop with the more worn out the pads become but it could also mean you have a leak somewhere.

it is better to have the brake lines throughly checked rather than having a brake failure.

i agree... i hade the cv boot chew through my driver's side brake line, it caused a bubble to blow out the side of the brake line when i applied the brakes. this caused far TONS of fluid to collect in the bubble and if appeared as though i had no brake fluid when braking. be sure and check the lines!

When i get back home in a cuple of weeks I will take it to a mechanic, my bracke pads are pretty low so I will have them changed, check my brake lines and change my fluid. Tank?s for the info.
