send help: when you pass somebody the trans drops to passing gear and winds out the tach will go to about 5 gs. then the motor will lose power and at the same it puts the check enging light on if you let off the gas the trans. will shift then you can go fine, car runs smooth, the code says 1st cyl. miss fire, i replaced,timing belt, plugs,wires, serpentine belt and coil pack, dealer can't find the problem with out soaking us,thanks Lou

what engine you have?
how many miles on the car?
how old is your fuel filter and injectors?

the car is 2000 laganza with 62,000 mi. fule filter is about 20,000 mi old. injectors are original, the engine is 2.2 thank you

i don't know how pure your fuel is but i think 20k miles for fuel filter is a bit high service miles

did you try any kind of injector cleaner? if not then try some STP or so and see if it gets better... if it did then you got clogged injectors and it will be better to replace them as cleaners are just temporary solution.

BTW are you sure your spark plugs gapped correctly or does your engine use non gap adjustable spark plugs?

i thing your right 20.000 is to many now that i look that is the first thing on the list, then i will try the injectors, thanks
