yep... again the old saying form my country proves that it is correct: learn how to land before you learn how to fly.
i'd upgrade rims, tires, brakes and suspension before puting such power into play... upgrading one or more of those mentioned components depends on how much power you are going to add to the car.
actually me and my friends are considering engine swaps for 1.5 SOHC lanos and 1.6 DOHC Nubira nad we want to know what is the difference in brakes and suspension setups between the OEM 1.5 and 1.6 Lanos and also the 1.6 and 2.0 Nubira so that we don't end up killing our selves but no one offered help so far.

But silver Kalos 2.2L is well tuned.
We changed wheel, tire, brake pad, suspension(Boge), spring(H&R), etc. And we are thinking of upgrading rotors.
Don't just think about it. DO IT! When you put effort into brakes as well as the engine you are taken a lot more seriously. It's time Daewoo gets off this budget bullsh!t trip that they are on. It is more forgivable if a car rattles and does a sub 5.0 sec run to 100km/h than if it rattles and takes all week to get to 100km/h. Not saying that this is the case, but the PERCEPTION is still that Daewoo is rubbish. Once again I have to take my hat off to Hyundai. Those guys have vision. They are now working on separating Hyundai and Kia, where Hyundai will be more luxury/comfort oriented and Kia the sport brand. Already the new Rio has discs as an option. The engines are still a bit behind but they have the formula right, make sure the car can stop before you make it go! (C&D Article)
GM is itself in severe trouble because apart from Cadillac none of their brands are really making an effort to be anything in particular. GM needs to adjust their thinking and find themselves and stop talking about finding "younger buyers".
