Air Conditioning Compressor

Post by cheeky_monkeys_lanos »

Hiya Peoples

Just found out that the compressor for the air con has gone in my car. :x Man the amount of money I have paid out on this car this year alone is sending me over the edge.

The guy I took it to said that it will cost $1500 Aust dollars to fix.

I can get a second hand compressor for $245 Aust dollars. But he said that the have to flush the hole thing to get any metal particals out so they dont do the same thing to the next one.

Please is there anyone out there that can help!!!!!!!!

i am not sure but in Australia it is very hot and A/C is a must... why don't you go for the second hand comp.? is is way cheaper than fixing yours.

My A/C compressor clutch was making noise at idle (A/C off).
Replaced it with the some rebuild GM clutch so far it's running. It was a year ago. $403 USD did it at Firestone.
