i posted a topic here befroe on where about is the spped sensor and ive had a few replys and people said that it is on the gearbox ive taken a pic to be sure tell me from the pic if this is the speed sensor as i dont know where it is please help.click the link below

yes, that is the speed sensor....




when you re-install it be sure to put some petroleum jelly on the o-ring to revent water and dirt from getting inside your transmission

so do i undo the bolt and take it out, and can it be cleaned.

yeah... undo that bolt and pull it out.


it is a little gear on the end of the sensor. clean it with a degreaser and wipe it down well, let it dry, re-apply the grease (use axle grease or gear lube), apply petroluem jelly to the o-ring, re-install the bolt, and you should be good to go!

man i tried to find the sensor in my service manual. i found it but the number it had for it was 46 and there was no 46 on the picture. don't know whats up with that.

if so... go to page... 5B-34 (book 2) you can see the removal process there

damn i didnt see that part. i just started looking at the book closely again and i still dont know how to navigate through it that well. sorry john highjacked your post. but at least you got the answer first. :D

thats quite alright mate well its done now hopefully i shouldnt have any more problems i hope i might have to go to the service station and get them to top up the gear oil could be runnig low cuz when i took the sensor out wasnt much oil on it maybe a teaspoon full u reckon thats normal.

that's taken from the repair manual... print it and take to the service station for refrence :D




i'm assuming you have a manual transmission, if it's auto... let me know, they mey be different (probably are)

its a 5 speed manual so the cap is on the gear box.

so the plug you are saying is that the one where the wireing socket is on top or a different one its probaly in front of me and i cant see it.
