Oil Catch Tank?

Were can I get one of these. I took my intake of the clean stuff and there was oil in the intake tub for some reason and the TB was almost black from so much build up.

check ebay... you can get em for under 20 shipped... just buy a can of paint and spiffy it up on your own

Even my Optra 5 with low mileage needs an oil catchtank.... I think it's normal for these Opel engines.

Tom was working on one..... not sure how cheap.... Ebay is allways great but you should be carefull about what you bid on.

One time I was on EBay looking at a catch tank that looked like it was made of Stainless steel..... I inquired and the seller said "it has the look of stainless" so I replied "is it made of stainless or not?" and he finally said it was a "super tough polycarbonate catch tank "

Needless to say I didn't buy it..... if I wanted a plastic cup I'd go down to the local walmart and pick one up for $1.50

Yeah, I got my oil catch tank from ebay for something like $18 shipped. When it came in, I was really surprised with the quality. It is solid, thick aluminum with quality paint. The damn thing weighs nearly 2 lbs!

The only forseable problem is that the little hose openings might be a bit too small for our volume of gas and oil that comes out of our breathers. I simple took it apart and drilled out all of the openings and got better flow.

It is just the design of our engines. Our engine models originated in the early '90s and by todays standards are "ancient". Even though they are old, they are still among some of the better engines on the planet. The older models just built up higher valve pressure. Maybe someone can give you an in depth answer as to where all the pressure comes from.

And yes, if you want to use a catch can, the one I bought will work very well. I tested it tonight and it worked marvelously. No more oil splatter and odor in the cabin.

nice! yeah i have 1 and i love it but i cant ever hear it (loud stereo) but they do help!
