Just to Clairify before I buy

Post by Brian5475E »

So the X16XE is the same engine as the Aveo/ Lanos 1.6. I'm trying to buy a performance header I want to make sure because it's coming from overseas. Thanks

In theory yes......but there is a slight risk that there is something different.... the only way to know for sure is to get the header and try it out.

This is why Tom doesn't stock all kinds of cool european parts.... until a part is ordered and tested there is no way to ensure 100% compatibility.

For the header.... I think it is very likely that they will be identical.... I personally would check by buying an exhaust gasket for the X16XE and then use it to compare to your engine.

I guess it depends on how much money your willing to shell out.... I'm sure the shipping is very expensive..... so it's probably not worth while to ship it all the way back to europe if it doesn't work.

My odds of success are 90% on this one.... if you were talking about sensors and stuff like that.... I'd tell you to be very cautious.

You should post a picture of the header and let us know pricing and stuff.... I'm sure there is the odd person who might be interested.

Who knows.... if it works out really good perhaps Tom could buy a bunch at a discounted price and do a group buy.

Plus worry about clearance from the oil pan.

The aveo has the shorty oil pan so I don't think clearance would be a problem

Looks pretty damn close. This X16XE has the same oil pan as mine. Also has the flat mounting on the head for the intake like the Aveo. But also has the Lanos style Crank pulley. Heres the link
