ok these are my symptoms, when i drive and push the clutch in to change gears there is a sqealing noise, not loud but you can hear it. it kinda sounds like an engine coming down of high revs but alot quieter. i have no idea about clutches so any help would be great. cheers
car is coming along ever so slowly, gotta stop getting my funds of the government

only audiable while engine on and clutch applied... sounds like a bad clutch bearing.

Bad throw out bearing. I would wait till the clutch goes before you change it

if he waits until it goes then he'll be ass out of a car plus it might be while he needs it. i say change it asap so you can do it when you choose not the other way around.
