synthetic oil

Post by bolek »

A few days ago I decided to switch to synthetic oil in my motor.
I used Royal Purple 5W30.
I don't know, call me crazy, but the car seems a bit faster now or
maybe it's just me.
Has anybody switched to synthetic and noticed a difference?

You may first notice a difference with the idle qality or the idle speed of the engine. Whenever I did an oil change on my 'Woo I would notice little things like when cruising at a steady 80km/h the revcounter would hover at around 2700rpm...anything less and I knew I needed an oil change or something. The faster speed you feel could be attributed to the fact that you have not only fresh, clean oil...but fresh, clean superior oil.
Cogito ergo sum...

how thick was your old oil?

because rember it takes force to move your oil around thicker oil is not only harder to move but also dampens movement.
