Post by Daew0Leganza »

how do u make the car rev to 5200 max because it takes long to do 5200 to 6200... 2 to 5 seconds lost from the rpm to 5200 to 6200... would be a waste because the car maxs hp at 5200

1- get a tach with a shift light and set it at 5200RPM whenever the light comes on shift to the next gear.

2- at idle press the throttle till the rpm reads 5200 RPM, measure the remaning distance to the fire wall and make a wodden block that fills this space so you can't press the throttle past that point.

3- get an aftermarket ignition system or something that can control your maximum revs.

i only gave those ideas as every time someone wanna mess with the rev limiter he gets the same answer "our ECUs are not reprogrammables" so you got to go arround the ECU not through it.

Actually Number 2 IS possible. Our military had some Willys Overland Jeeps that were limited to 45mph and that's how they achieved it...not with a block, but with a metal plate. The thing is that this maximum will change according to the gear that the car is in. Obviously it will never get to 5200 when in top gear, but may affect the top speed you want to maintain. Why would you want to stop revs there anywhere? Your rev-limiter will protect your engine.

Ummm...... shift the auto gears manually

How to drive a car with an automatic transmission.... step by step

1) Put the shifter in 1st gear
2) Press on the gas pedal
3) When it hits 5200RPM in first gear shift to second by moving the lever up one notch
4) When it hits 5200RPM in second gear shift to third gear by moving the lever up one notch
5) When it hits 5200RPM in third gear shift it to drive ( 4th gear ) by moving the lever up one notch

Amazingly enough this also works in the reverse direction... but we will leave that for another fun episode of "How to drive a car with an automatic transmission"

Are you sure your old enough to drive?

I dunno.... you ask some strange questions.

I tried that the one time while I was at the track and it didn't make it any faster.
