Bad valve issue

Post by nefary »

yesterday I were in a street race & bush the car to the limit. I used a method of braking which you have to brake + down gear to the lower ratio + slight press on accelrator pedal. this method which disscused in rhe video & picture forum & I remember that Audacityracing named this operation with "feathering" the throttle

my proplem not that . anyway it was helpfull through corners & the car out of corners with good torque.and I were the front car in the race

in one corner the car was on 3rd gear @ 5500 rpm I drived it to the 2nd gear then "VOOOm" happened.' I guess that the engine exceeded its revolution limit " 6700 rpm for example".

after that the engine looses lots of torque and at high speed 120km/h the engine couldnt increase rpm over 5000 rpm. so I stopped racing & checked the engine. all things were good beyond one thing . one valve - or may be more- has a high sound ' TICK TICK TICK sound heared crealely from inside the car with hood closed. this sound was hearable before the race but when you stand front of the car ,hood opened & in this case the sound was systimatic. but now some valves sound normal some others louder than usual.

any suggestions??????

pull the cover off and check how the vlave springs are seated, you may have caused some to slip out of place and need to be reseated.

result... vent valves and 6 of 8 broken followers....

that was with my old 8v engine...

is yours a 16 or 8 valve?
