Running straight pipes for muffler
Ok, yesterday I was hanging out with a couple of buddy's and one ownes a 2003 pontiac grand am. He just recently cut off his muffler and ran straight pipes under his car and let me tell you it sounds like you wouldn't believe. I know this is illegal here where I live but is there a way to do this to a daewoo?

I dont think i'd sound as good on your car. Its sounds better on cars like that.. but it also depends on what kinda sound you like

Don't do it. You will have a loud spitting sound that is NOT flattering and you will also likely develop flatspots in the torque-curve because these cars do in fact require quite a bit of backpressure to function smoothly. If you must, though, go ahead and try it. Nothing beats the REAL lesson...experience.

its true tho because my car had the aeroturbine muffler it sort of sucked because the response was slower and my neighbor told me there was to much backfire... it didnt sound sweet but then just found out that the flexpipe was bust but if u want full power purchase some high flow converter with flowmaster super or delta 40 muffler... the delta 40s on my car but it sounds to low with the new flex pipe but other people tell me it sounds loud but in the car u cant even tell its on... after replacing the aero with the flowmaster response time was much bettertango wrote:Don't do it. Ok... been there done that...
I ran straight pipes for about 2 days..... it drove me nuts!
I couldn't hear my stereo with it cranked to maximum!
It actually sounded cool from outside the car but I'm not kidding when I say that it almost made me deaf inside the car.
This will sound strange but I think it was louder inside than out !
All my mirrors shook.... I could barely make out traffic in my side and rear view mirrors
So..... it might sound cool but my vote is not to go with straight pipes.
