i concur with woo, a wobbley steering wheel means you need to balance your wheels, you will need allignment if your car wonders while going in a straight line or if you are eating too much tires.

I recommend checking the bushings on the control arms for deteriorated rubber. My Nubira would shake and vibrate at 65-75 mph before I had them replaced. (80,000 miles) Is the handling loose also? As in it will "wobble" while cornering?

First I would check the balance, as woo said. The alignment is less likely to cause shaking, but may possibly be the cause.

Before the bushings would wear out, there is a possibility that there is a warn out steering damper. It looks like a shock absorber and is attached to the steering components.

Steering dampers usually have a shorter life than bushings as they are moving all the time with every turn of the steering wheel.

If these are new tires on your car, one could be out of round. I have had this happen to me a couple of times with new tires, and no amount of balancing will fix it. Also, if your tires have been sitting for a while, they may have developed a flat spot, which would also put the tire out of round. Like everyone else has already mentioned, the tire balance could also be out. If you've hit a curb or some thing recently, you may have bent a rim, or knocked off a wheel weight. Also, if your rotors are nearing the end of their life, they can also warp, but this would mainly show up as a wobble when braking from highway speeds. Hope this helps.

check the rubber parts in the location where suspension is linked to the car chassis.

Balance and alignment should cost well under $100.00

I'm guessing somewhere along the lines of $60-$70. I forget exactly what I paid.
