Usually, the symptoms might be, but not limited to:
- unprecise steering
- wandering on the road
- "loose" steering
- knocks while traveling on road imperfections
- feeling of "floating" when driving on wet/slippery surfaces
- sudden changes in car's behaviour while cornering
In the Lanos, this would usually be:
- tie rods end outer
- tie rod end inner
- ball joints
- upper strut mounts
- bushings (but they are usually last to wear). If can move the control arm sideways by hand, they are worn

the only thing i have is noise while going over bumps... it is some what irretating to have that... also some times when applying the brakes in a slow corner i feel that the steering wheel turns on its own 2 or 3mm trying to go into center position... what could that be? bushings or ball joints?
also have some little knocking at the back and i notice that it goes away for a while when i tighten the upper shock absorber's bolts in the boot... can that be normal knowing that our roads are almost the most bumpy all over the world?
the car doesn't wonder or feel soft even on high speeds... just this damn knocking noise on bumpy surfaces.

I recall having a light squeaking sound on my front right side when I drove it but if I pressed the car down on that side it wouldn't. Only when driving did it make the sound. I then had the bushing replaced and it went away.
