For u guys near or in Arizona

Post by bluesheepbrian »

Was wondering how is it over there? Weather, jobs, way of life. The wife and I were thinkin' a change in atmosphere might help us out. Things up here are getting expensive. especially near the coast were we are.

How is the cost of leaving we were lookin' at houses and they were pretty cheap compared to here. A plus was the aloud horses which the wife loves.

Phoenix is nice, as for jobs and other stuff, i'm not sure exactly... I'm only 18... and still full time student... Generally a lot of nice people... But probably very different from a costal place... The summer is hot, but you get used to it, besides it's not very humid when it's hot so it's actually kinda nice... Oh and... Winters aren't bad at all here in phoenix from 60* - 75*

I love it here... and have lived here all my life... and i wouldnt' want, nor imagine any other place to live full time...

Anyway, i hope i helped a little, ask me any specific questions if you have any... =)

Well i typed a long and good reply when my comp fronze..

Anyways where in AZ are you thinkin? Its a very diverse state.. some places are good all year.. some are hot almost all year (burning in summer). Phoenix is probably where your thinkin.. summers are extreamly hot but not as bad as you think especialy w/o the humidity.

The last few years the cost of owning a home has gone up TONNNSSS but still not the most expensive in the country (i cant see where you live while im typing this post otherwise id comment more specificly).

As for jobs.. cant help you there.. ive always perfered labor jobs just to get some hours and have always made most my money in real/stock investing.

Yeah its kinda odd... OUr housing value skyrocketed... and yet we're still one of the lower cost of living areas in the US... can get a rather large house for a lot less than many other places...

Its starting to become one of the more expensive ones. But the difference between the top few most expesnive places in US to live and everywhere else is HUGE. So were one of the cheapest out of the most expensive ones.. if that makes any since. lol

None of the house here are under 150k to 160k, kind of pricy for us. Not to mention taxes are up to $1200. And this is all going more inland....we wont even go there with the price of house going toward the coast.

You can thank your next door neighboor, California for what is happening in AZ. The cost of living in California is so high that people are moving out to cheaper places. The only way to live in California is to know how to make money in the state and how to survie in it as well.

I guess in phoenix it's all about where you buy... there are some places cheaper than others... for example north scottsdale is Pretty expensive...

to be honest i think my mom paid 170K for the condo she just bought in mesa (south phoenix), it's really close to a mall though... and normally things of that nature can price places up a bit... If you do decide to come out here, i think you'd be able to pick up a nice house easily, it's just a matter finding one that doesn't need too much work in the right neighborhood... Investors can drive up the price of a house like mad... and if they find a good house that could make them quite a bit of money... they'll jump on it...

bleh...

Bleh... yeah... just made me mad when my mom went to buy a new house... it was insane how much these crappy houses appreciated in such a short time (about 6 months)...
