How many brake pad types on Daewoo Lanos?

Post by crdc »

Hello, time to change my front pads.
Last set I bought from the dealer for WAY too much, and they didn't last
very long.

I can get other pads from a few autoparts stores in the area, but two types seem to be available, and all are listed for the 1.6 and you need the VIN#.

Searching the forums got me even more confused. How many types actually exist? Are there several types for both 1.5 and 1.6? If not can the 1.6 pads fit the 1.5? changing the calipers maybe?

I have my VIN# if it can help.. thanks

their are two types of pads that came on the lanos:

the old type named the TEVES which have pads with T shaped ends... this type can be found on old 1.6 DOHC lanos models as well as the 1.3 SOHC lanos

the new type is the DAC which have I shaped pad ends and it is found on the 1.5 SOHC lanos as well as the newer 1.6 DOHC lanos

sorry i don't have VINs or so to guide you through your choice.

as for swapping brakes you will have to get the bigger 256mm rotors from a 1.6 lanos or espero and a full caliper assembly and the 22mm master cylinder from the 1.6 car as well... needless to say you will need 14" or bigger rims to fit over the bigger brakes assembly.

Different pads on a 1.5!

Post by crdc »

Well guys it seems my 199 Lanos S (1.5L SOHC) has the Teves pads with the smaller discs. When I removed the wheel I saw the T-Shaped ending and the clip..

Is this possible?? Has anybody else seen this before?
