Renault F1 engine video

Post by genie47 »

You can see the injectors mist over the throttle openings. Super red hot looking exhaust manifold. Was producing an ear shattering 160dB on full throttle.

i think they are injecting water on top of the blades, i know that they use it to cool the motor because at 18000 rpms heat is a beast. they used to do this to airplane motors in the 70's.... either way that is pretty intense power

f1 cars top out around 210 on tracks... if you really wanted to push it you could get to 250

... the thing is though, that's 0-200 in 10 seconds (roughly)

i red a review for the Supra saying: it will do the 0-100 kms in 5.1 seconds, if you want any thing faster than that go get an F1 car... it does 0-200 Kms in the same time period".

injecting fuel like that would cause a huge fire/ explosion hazard, i know they do use water injection so i assumed thats what it was

it is indeed fuel...

they aren't turbo... water injection would not only be useless but would cause for massive engine failure.

according to www.formula1.com, the f-1 engines use roughly 650 liters of air per second... it's moving so quickly by the injectors that there isn't time to ignite. not only that, but it is a lower pressure area, further reducing the chance of detonation.

lol well tom and i are renault experts. If you can find a Renault rs25 3.0 V10 engine sure we could fit it into your car. But it would only last 2 races :D
