all WRC cars are 2000CC, turbocharged, 300HP, AWD and weight no less than 1350KGs as i recall... thats what a WRC car should be so all of the different marks are built the same.
in the older year the cars have to be based on a road going AWD version so mainly it was the Lancia delta, subaru legacy and impreza and Toyota celeca cars but now it has to be a road going production car regardless of it beeing AWD or even turboed... that opened the door for all them corollas, lancers, cordobas, octavias and focuses.
indeed the WRC cars loves nothing more than drifting and since they are AWD and pump 300HP they can turn arround very tight corners at high speed while almost going completley sideways yet you are still in control and can get her back on track easly.
on some corners the hand brake is applied but thats on really slow, tight corners... any thing other than that only requires a scandinavian flick then a floored throttle and you are going sideways all over the road but since you got AWD and active center diff. you can get the car back with no sweat... drifting is an inherent charactristic of a WRC car.
all the cars you saw on the vid. (except for he megan, clio and the old 306) are either WRC or group A rally cars so the specs. i mentioned apply to all of them.
having said that, you will know that the cars performance is almost equal so it is really up to drivers' skills and car's durability... during the 2000 to 2003 the peugeot 206 was the king of tarmac rallys whereas the focus was dominating the rough surface rallies (kenia and grees).
subarus got some good performance on gravel too but not as strongly built as the focus, they dominated the late 90 though then the balace switched to peugeot on 200 till 2003 then to citroen from 2004 till now.
as for drivers... this period is marked with new young, talanted drivers as Sebastien loeb, petter solberg and Markko martin after the retirment of the legendary Tommi makinen and Carlos Sainz and the switch to rally raid by Colin McRay.
i got loads of similar WRC vids if you like to see them... i just insainly inlove with them cars.
