how long does it take 4 the battery to die
First off sorry for starting so many threads w/ audio question.. but if they were all in one i know they wouldnt get answered.
I know if you just leave the stereo on it could take all night to kill the battery... but what about w/ subs? My frined leaves his subs hitting hard for an hour and the battery is fine w/ 1000watts. But shouldnt it only take a few mins to kill the battery w/ all that power being drawn?

no idea man but i draned my battry once when i left my system up for some 4 hours with the car off... next morning their was not enough power to crank the engine.
i only got a Pioneer KEH-P4025 head unit, Pioneer 6500 equalizer, 60watt x2 Kenwood amp and 220watt 7'x10' Kenwood speakers.
i recon it depends on the volume and the type of music you play... higher volume drains more power also music that got lots of bass consumes more power to operate the subs than the sound of a piano that is basicly mid range.
also the 1000 watts is kinda the max power... OK it might be rms but you don't use 1000 watts when your volume is set to 1.
i am not an expert with audio but that is what it looks from the logical point of view.

they have two subs running 200watts rms... i dont know about the rest of the system but thats the subs alone. Id say they were running it at 75% volume for over an hour.
I mean hell.. my car used to dye will i have the 400watts rms before the ground wires, better battery, capp, ect... even when it was running!

Well whats your guess for 750watts rms on a yellow top battery?TheGreatAndPowerfulOz wrote:How long it can run has 2 main factors.
1) The actual amperage draw rate taken from the battery by the electrical system
2) The amperhour life of the battery. Deep cycle batteries have a longer sustained output than regular batteries.
