does treadwear affect tire traction and grip?? i mean if two tires got an A for traction rating, does the tire with less tread wear have better grip??
just asking before i base my tire choice decision on wrong ideas that i have in mind.

thats the exact idea i have in mind... the longer life tread is made of a harder, less grippy compund.

quoted from http://www.oregonpca.org/Library/Autocr ... _tires.htmTires are a classic example of compromise. The designers must balance dry performance, wet performance, tread life, comfort and even noise levels. When choosing a tire, you need to make a choice based on your own balance of compromises. You must consider if you should use a softer or harder compound tire based on the performance versus tread life tradeoff.
