New Battery Need advice

my battery died today , so i need to get a new battry but im confused buy a Dry Battery or Wet Battery so guyz i need advice plz ASAP

p.s : the weather here is too hot

get an optima battery they work wonders. you can get either red top or yellow top. i forget which one is which but i think red top is for performance wise and the yellow top is for sound systems. someone correct me if i'm wrong.

i concur with yasser... the dry battry is the best you can get.

i first used a Delkor battry and it served me for a bit over 3 years and when it died i got myself an AC Delco battry and it is working fine so far.

only down side for those battries is that they are more expensive than wet ones but for the long service period and lack of any required mantenace it is well justfied price difference.

since we mentioned batteries... what if i got myself a new battery with higher AMPs than the OEM rating?

is that going to be good in any kinda' way?? will it hurt anything in the car? i thing the ECU is loaded with electronic chips and could be senstive or is it going to be just a waste of mony?

Need your advice guys.

Won't hurt a thing. You could wire 20 batteries with a CCA of 850 each in parallel and this just means that you would have 17,000 amps available.

The amperage rating of a battery indicates what is available but your car will only use (or draw) what it requires to start and run.

There WOULD be trouble if you went BELOW the manufacturer's minimum CCA rating.

No problem. And as a rule (if you can afford to wait), anytime you buy a new battery, put it on a charger overnight before installing it.

Yes, they are fully charged from the factory but can lose a lot of charge depending on the storage conditions and time elapsed before you buy it. Installing a battery that needs 20A for half an hour straight in order to fully charge puts tremendous strain on your alternator. As a mechanic, I have replaced probably 20 alternators during my career for customers that had just installed a new battery the day before.
