Thinking about new rims... need some opinions...
Hey,
Im thinking of getting new rims when my tax returns comes in and i was wondering what size would be best for my cielo?
Im thinking 15's or 16's so that the car wont look too high and bouncy... but it's a cielo so i dont want the wheels to look too small either (in comparison to the largish looking rear end).
It will be lowered aswell...
Any thoughts on this?
Thanks,
Mark

I dont think 17s will be too big. At least go with 16s.. but i think 17s would look better!

Whats the tire size though? I think he'd end up with 40s if he went with 17s. I have 40s on mine and its lowered and i plan on putting 18s on with a 35 tire.. i dont even think that'll be too bad and will be lowering it even more soonAcingTeam wrote:17's would definately look better, but for comfort issues go with 16's. I have black 15's and the car is lowered, looks good and comfort is there as well.

Tire size is 195/50/R15. Very comfortable. When I had my Contour, I had 205/40/R17 and it was terrible, every pot hole I could feel pretty badly.kinkyllama wrote:Whats the tire size though? I have 40 now with 44psi in the tires and i like the feeling. You have to be carful on big pot holes and speed bumps though.. with 33psi its niceAcingTeam wrote:Tire size is 195/50/R15. Here's what I think you should drop on that girl:
I think pretty much EVERY car looks good with 15 to 17 spokes like these. My first car (1987 Hyundai Excel) had some similar and trust me...went a FAR way!
TSW Pace
TSW Imola
A good choice also are these flared spokes. They have a bit of curve yet have a bit of edge to them that's consistent with current trends. the Cielo has similar design cues as well so that just makes things all the better.
TSW Q5
TSW Q6
My Cielo has these:
League 077 Tantrums
I say work with 15s....The Cielo doesn't take anything much larger without having to pay VERY close attention to the offset (because of the horizontal rear fender wells). I have 15 inchers with 40 offset and had to bend the fender lip upwards a bit.
Here's a cool configurator to help you make a choice:
Wheel/Car Configurator
It's kinda herky jerky (and it shows an Astra instead of the Cielo but u get the idea pretty clearly), and it also recommends 15 inchers with 38 offset. Good luck.

Cogito ergo sum...
you wont get passed for rego in australia if the rims are bigger then 2' above the largest rim that was offered from the factory. If the cielo came factory with 14's then 16's would be legal but 17's not
