Lowering springs/adjustable shocks....

Post by Chas Wiggins »

Who makes a suspension kit for a 2000 Lanos HB 1.6l? Anyone make adjustable shocks for this car?
Does anyone make true coilovers for this car?

Sorry if this has been discussed before. New to the site.

I just don't like pulling up to a red light next to a car like mine.

eibach makes springs for the lanos. i haven't seen anything else made specificly for it. it seems that more often than not with our cars, you have to find parts designed for other cars that happen to fit.

B&G makes the stock shocks/struts on BMW and other german cars I believe. They supposed to be pretty good. I went with KYB.

Whiteline, King Springs, and a few other major brands all have springs available for Lanos's.. but only with 1 inch lowering.

I got a friend who says there's a brand that'll make them to any size you want, for any car, and not much more cost than normal springs. He's getting details for me soon, will post when I know.

As it would happen I just got my FK Automotive dealer catalog and price list.

FK is a very large European company and they are now moving into North America.

I've talked to a few people and it sounds like FK is a really good name... I hadn't heard anything about them before so I did some checking around before inquiring into a dealership.

Their website is www.fk-automotive.com

I would suggest going onto the English flag link since the North American website is still under development and doesn't show all the products

There are two different true coilover suspensions but they aren't cheap.

For $999.00 you get the standard Highsport coilover kit (front & back)

For $1119.00 you get the Konigsport coilover kit (front & back) with Koni adjustable dampners

All prices are in $US

If you check out the other components you will find everything from leather racing seats to side mirrors.

I'm not a dealer yet.... but I will probably set up a company and website fairly soon (when things slow down at work)

You won't find any Daewoo specific components but they are available.

I'm looking at bringing in a whole pile of components for my vehicle so thay I can get setup as a dealer......so if there is anything you guys like just email me at Lanosmfg@shaw.ca and I will send you pricing in US dollars.

Search through the suspension section on here; I posted with a big list of springs for the Lanos, Nubira and Leganza. Intrax makes a set for the Lanos that is a 1.5" drop.

One thing about coilovers that I learned while in Japan is that if it ain't made for your car, but its all the right length, then all you need is a drill to drill you out some some bolt holes and just put that sucker in there. Though it may not sound like a great idea, I have been in some Skylines riding on suspenion supposed to be for Silvias and vice versa.
