all daewoo engines that i came across had them hydraulic lifters so you don't need to adjust anything at all.

For some reason all the Holden engines I've owned seem to make quite a bit of valve noise.... ( 2.0L 8V turbo, 2.0L 16V, 1.5L SOHC ).... my Optra sounds like a diesel if you are going up a slight hill at low speed and low RPM. ( usually as I enter my parking spot in 2nd gear and 1500RPM )
Sometimes I shift down into 1st as I enter my parking spot but the car can sometimes get a little "jumpy" since the throttle response is fairly quick.

IF they seems noisy, before you jump into conlcusions and start replacing them, use a good engine flush with your next oil change. Sludge and carbon buildup in the lifter will prevent proper operation (ie, too much clearance), and thus nocking. Or, do one oil change with flush now, and another 3000KM down the road...see if things improve.
