Diagram for belt replace Lanos

Post by micron »

Hi,

I will change my timing belt soon on my Lanos 2000 with 1.6L engine and 75 000 miles.

I need the diagram to change the timing belt.

Someone can give me this diagram?

Thanks

Also, I hope that is your 2nd time change and not the first. They do tend to brake at around 50k miles and if you have lasted to 75k miles with a stock belt, you are LUCKY my friend!! It is a known problem with our cars, don't forget to change the belt every 50k.

IDK, they are rated to last like 90,000 miles but realistically only last like 60,000. However, I have 193K miles and I believe only changed the belt Once and after inspection, they say that my current one is good for at least anothr 10K miles

Thanks to your information.

I will give the diagram to the motor mechanic.

To your question... Yes, it's the first timing belt change.

I have to go tomorrow to the garage at 30 miles for the check engine related to the cam position sensor. I really hope that my timing belt will be ok for 60 miles because I have an appointement only in two days to change them.

MAKE SURE YOU GET THE TENSIONERS CHANGED TOO. they are also a comman problem with daewoo/vauxhall engines, mine had 54k on it, and i was lucky the belt didnt come off, the tensioners were close to breaking!
