brake painting question

i want to paint my calipers...

my b-day is next saturday and my parents bought me the cross-drilled and slotted set of rotors... but iw ant to cleana nd paint the calipers when i do the change out.

i want them to be flat black... do they make a flat black brake paint? or should i just use the same stuff i used to the exhaust (bbq paint)?

Any paint 500 farenheit temp. Or more. Hi-temp paint. Clean the calipers before paint.

I did black.. i just bought spray paint for like a bbq grill.. cuz it stands like 1300degrees. Worked very well...

I used caliper paint the first time, then the brush on stuff the next time. Finally I got it powdercoated and have to say that is the best way. The brake dust just wipes right off them unlike with paints where it becomes attached and stains the paint.

From my experience, the brush-on type works better than spray. One of the best ceramic high-gloss painta available out there, is by German company called Folia-Tec. Alternatively, Dupli-Color works fairly well, but be prepared for 3 layers for a nice, smooth look and shine.

You can use any 2-pak paint. They can sustain very high temps. I'm getting my brake calipers in Kawasaki Green!
