Lanos Engine Mounts

Post by BosnianLanos »

Well, since my engine mounts are basically shot, I need replacement ones.

At http://www.gm-car-parts.com I got "quoted" $22.07 for the front, $16.14 for the rear, and $47.36 for the automatic transmission mount.

Now, these prices aren't at all bad, but I just want to explore other options. For example, do the mounts from the Pontiac Lemans fit the Lanos? Also if the Lemans parts fit, is there any company that makes urethane parts for the Lemans or will I have to silicone mine to give them that Urethane like feel.

Also, I was wondering if 360Dynamics could provide me with some mounts?

Thanks all!

I need to know the same thing; it's time to change my mounts.

If the Lemans mounts are the same (pics could help), we can have them filled with polurethane. This is very popular, and very well working mod. We do quite a few of them on the SRT-4s, some running 360+ whp and 400lbs torque. The price for filling 3 mounts is CAD 140, mounts not included, but core price can be returned if the old ones (must be new, or near new) are returned to us.

The mount of the timing belt side is different. the other 2 are the same.

Thats why you have to modify a bit that base mount to fit a 20GET, 20LET, 20XE, or 20SED.

Which parts aren't the same between the Lemans and Lanos?

Are you talking about the front primary engine mount?

You do know that there are two completely different mounting brackets for mounting the 1.6L and 2.0L right?

I suppose a 1.6L mount could be modified but the longer 2.0L mounts can be picked up for a couple of bucks at the local scrap yard.
