any body noticed this?? the A/C drain pipe is duping the condensation water on the exhaust pipe... or at least this is the case with my 1.5 SOHC.
i am not comfortable with the current setuation as the pipe is constantly dropping water on the hot ehaust pipe and it will make it rust badly just like the old one i just replaced.
i came up with three ideas to fix this and i would like to hear your opinions and other ideas you might have:
1- try to move the pipe to the right or left so that it drips the water beside the exhaust pipe rather than on it.
+) this requires no mods and almost no time to do
-) i think the pipe is too closer to the exhaust that simply rotating it won't be enough to miss the exhaust
2- make an extension pipe to relocate the dripping point of the drain water.
+) flexability for locating the dripping point and required work is not that big... i already have the extension pipe.
-) what about water flow? could the extension pipe block the water flow and cause "water on passenger side" issues? also i don't know if their is enough clearance for the extension pipe to fit between the OEM pipe and the exhaust pipe.
3- make a scheild on the exhaust pipe using aluminum foil or so.
+) making sure the drain pipe is operating normaly with no blocking issues.
-) requires much work as i have to work under the car and the mod. won't look that great in the end (big lump on the exhaust pipe) not to mention that the practicality of this solution is highly questionable.
need advice guys... thanks.
