Anyone interested in EVs should check out this conversion kit for converting a Porsche 914.

Was featured in a documentary recently called Green Cars.

Its wicked, has great acceleration and saw the crazy guy do donuts with it. Problem is the range. 80-100 miles and you need to get to a charging station.

BosnianLanos has got a point. If generating electricity from fossil fuels is used to charge batteries of EVs, it defeats the purpose of an EV.

In order to reap the full benefits of a cleaner environment with EVs, it is best to generate electricity from renewable sources.

Ya.... like methane from my ass that's a renewable resource :P

Wouldn't that be great?

Eat a couple of cans of beans before bed and power your car all the way to work :D

Or how about ant power... they can lift several thousand times their body weight.... you could have a car with 5 trillion ant power!!!

Man, I guess CNN possesed me cause I went from high gas prices to alternate forms of transport to pollution. IDK. I'm not really one of those tree-huggers who rides bikes everywhere. If I can inhale and not pass out, then there is low pollution.

All I was basically saying is, I don't care what we drive or how much it pollutes, just that we need to get away from gas dependance because the middle east and venezuela got us by the balls, not to mention it costs painfully much to fill up.

So, Hybrids, Diesels, Natural Gas, Audacity's Hamsters, Methane from Erfinder's ass, are all viable means, (well, maybe not methane cause the poor guy probabally can't take all those beans! ) all I care is that I don't depend on what kind of day oil had on the stock market. Cause I drive A LOT!

Sorry if I came off as a dick, but CNN really takes away critical thinking skills, it is like communism for the mind!

Electric vehicles aren't that means I'm afraid. The world is still too dependent on fossil fuels as a means of producing electricity. Even if coal is used (which the US doesn't need to import) there are other countries who do require heavy oil and diesel. For far too long we have sat on our asses thinking that oil reserves and political "friendships" would keep oil prices low. What was the great America thinking when it relied so heavily on an imported item? In case nobody knows, it was Japan's over-reliance on OIL that caused it to bomb Pearl Harbor. Cripple the US forces so the Japanese could dictate how things were run. Oil makes people mad. I say get rid of it and watch our world return to peace and harmony.

Anyway..I wonder if BCC is still interested in converting his car?? LOL

Speaking of hamsters...I lost my little guy about 2 weeks ago. Poor thing. We were never close though (agressive little bastard bit EVERYBODY) but now that he's gone I kinda miss him.

We had an experimental pig farm on our red dot of an island before. All the pig waste are collected into a "fermentation tank" of sorts and the methane produced was used to power a generator which supplied electricity for the farm.

With billions of humans living in a city, that is a lot of potential fuel in our sewers.
