So i took my head to the shop 2001 lanos 1.6l, found out it had 4 intake valves and 2 exhaust valves broken. So my question is when i order the parts are the valve guides diff for the exhaust and intake or are they the same.
2. Also i was told i need a gasket set? Do they just mean head gasket or what?
3.Also what is the tightening order for the head bolts?
4. Oh yeh another question the half moon shaped brackets that hold the cams are numbered, when i took off i had them in order till my brother screwed around so now i don't know the order?
5. Also anything i should be aware of before i put the head back on tips tricks things to watch out for ?
6.And my piston heads have gunk on the top of them is there anything special i should use to clean them?
Lol, sorry for so many questions just trying to make sure i do this right thanks for the help? If i think of any more ill be sure to post them.

I dont believe the guides are the same for the intake and exhaust. At least this is the case with the 2.0/2.2 DOHC, which have different intake and exhaust valves.
Let us know if you need assistance with the valves.
Depending from the mileage of your engine, you may only need to replace the valve cover gasket, but you do need the head gasket.
I guess this was caused by the broken timing belt. We currently have a deal on a set for CAD 180 (shipping included to US) - US approx 144. Kit consists of timing belt, 1 tensioner, 1 roller. Add water pump for only $CAD 45 (US approx 36). See all the details here: http://www.daewootech.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=3586
The piston head may be cleaned with something like karosene, or gunk remover and a non-metal object. Be careful not to force debris in between the piston and the bore.
As far as the specs go, PM us with your email addy.
