aveo / lanos

Post by l_BlakBear_l »

so yea, i was replacing my valve cover gasket, but didnt go to the daewoo dealer. i got the part from the chevy for the aveo it all looked the same shape, ordered it. sopecial order no return now. and turns out it fits fine but it has a different fitting style. it has a rivet that goes into the groove on the bottom then flat on the top for the daewoo, but the aveo has the rivet on both sides...so 31 bucks down the drain...and turns out the daewoo deealer had the part...and in stock... :x so yea... and i seen someoen talkin about a coil going bad. while removing the spark plugs one of the spark plug wires broke off. so now i gotta replace the spark plug wires. the guy at the dealer said that eventually if it misfires it will cause the coil to go bad. spark plug wires $89 coil $289 so maybe thats how the coil could have gone bad. also anyone know if the spark plug wires from aveo to lanos would fit fine? :D sometimes the price is cheaper from the aveo $8 shift rod guide vs 30 from the daewoo dealer. perhaps someone could come up with a interchangable parts for them? as far as i know they are exactly the same except the manifold. but i seen there engine and some things look different. but it coulda have been that it was an automatic. but yea rod shifter is interchangeabe, valve gasket cover is not :(

Same

Spark plug wires
spark plugs
manual tranny shifter and bushings
tranny

Different
intake manifold
head
exhaust manifold (same bolt pattern for thre head, the aveo has a smaller collector)
Ignition coil (one has 3 wires the other has 4 can't remeber which)
oil pan
motor mounts
throttle body
crank pulley
belts
thermostat housing
axles

so you can see not much the same, the AVeo has a deep skirted block, I don't think the Lanos does. if you look at the oil pans the AVeo has a very shallow oil pan due to the longer block, the lanos had a deeper one because of the shorter block. but I'm sure the pistons and rods are the same also the crank
Aveo that moves! Now I need those cams!
