Reno Suspension

Post by daewooluvr »

Hey Guys,
I'm thinking about picking up a Reno. I just want to find out a few things first.

What platform does it share that we could use?

Other than the Apex Springs, what other lowering springs or better yet coil overs are available?

Poly-Euro bushings?

Front and rear strut tower bars?

Sway bars?

Its the same thing as the forenza. One thing i forgot is the shop you installed my spring said they didnt tihnk the spring were made for my car cuz they dont fit perfectly. I talked to evofusion about it and they told me it was for my particular car. Anyways ive had them on for about 15k miles.. about 10hours of track time and have had no problems besides tire rubbing only on the track on the right corner. Just need some stiffer sway bars

Yes, we have been talking to KW and they have stated that we should have the coilovers available for sale sometime around the end of September. We're also working with some folks on sway bars that we will be testing for the Reno in our next race and offering around the same time as the coilovers :D. Please let me know if you have any questions...

Daewooluvr...I wish you were a little closer so we could show you our suspension. Might convince you to buy a Reno

:D The Astra G suspension is not exactly identical.... Both Tom and I have been working on this for a while.... I really want some adjustable struts to go along with the APEX springs. ( factory ones are very weak )

As part compatibility is confirmed stuff will start showing up on Tom's website.

I'm also working on another project.... I don't want to mention too much about it at the moment but it's possible that the suspension from a different vehicle might work in the Reno/Optra 5/Forenza/Optra

The shop I work for in my spare time was doing an install of some TEIN struts on a vehicle and I noticed that they were very similar to mine... but a different sway bar would need to be manufactured to make it work.

If I get a chance I'm going to fool around and see if I can make it work.... I'd love to be able to install a TEIN EDFC setup and TEIN has a really wide variety of setups to choose from.
