converting from 4 to 5 lugs

Post by anesTHEtic34 »

are there comparable 5 lug rotors out there or do i have to go with the gay-ass conversion plates?

Why would you want to convert? Just about any set of rims you can find, you can get in either 4bolt or 5bolt universal patterns.

I'm confused as well.... the 4X100mm pattern is the same as the Honda Civic and Acura Integra ( plus the hub diameters are almost identical )

You would think that you should be able to find damned near any rim in a 4 X 100mm.

We also have a wierd offset so putting on a conversion plate would make your tire center even worse. ( moving the centerline can cause premature bearing wear and unpredictable steering)

i found a great deal on some bitchin rims with tires on them. even spending the $100 for conversion plates it would still have been signicantly cheaper than buying the rims alone. i test fit the front rims, and they look like ass with the plates. they stick out the sides like on those lowrider trucks. oh well. needless to say, i'm holding out for another deal to come along.

Ya.... it's unfortunate we have such a strange offset.

I want much wider tires ( 245's ) to handle the power of the new engine but it means some serious body work around the wheel wells.

I do have some fiberglass wheel flares that should work but I don't know if they would create enough room ( I would have to cut out the metal around the wheel wells and use the fiberglass flares to cover up the much larger diameter hole in the fender)

It will either look awesome or it will look butt ugly.

I did see a nice picture of a korean Lanos that had the wheel well sheet metal flared out..... I will see if I can find it again.

that white one had me drooling until i saw the taillights. those are just outright ugly. i see what you're saying about widening the wheel well though. i wonder if that was all custom or if there's somebody that sells the fender kits.
