I'd be interested if the price was closer to $3500
I have to come down east on a business trip and I was considering the idea of flying into Dorval, picking up a Lanos, driving it around for a week doing repairs to customer equipment and then I'd drive it back home.
For some reason there are a billion Lanos for sale in the Montreal area... I've seen them listed for as low as $3000.
I figured I'd be able to pick up a half decent one for $3000 to $3500 and write off all the gasoline (plus mileage) during my trip back home.
I don't need the stereo stuff.... perhaps we can work out a deal for the car and the body kit without the stereo
Do you have the 1.5L SOHC or the 1.6L DOHC???

Well.... I think you would be lucky to get $3700.... when I tried to trade my Lanos in on a Subaru STi they came up with $3300 as the most they would do on a trade in and it only had 30,000km on it.
(plus 2yrs of waranty at the time )
What options does your Lanos have??
I haven't scheduled my trip yet.... I will have to see what current prices are in the Dorval area and Toronto area as I'm not sure where I will be starting out my trip.
I would like to buy a car off someone I sort of know.... you never know what your getting at a dealership.
So how much for the car + body kit (if you haven't sold it yet)

I have to make sure about the business trip before I drop you an offer.
I was really hoping to get the 1.6L so that I could fool around with it before putting in my 2.2L drag racing engine.
I don't know if you know.... but the reason I wanted a Lanos is for a drag racing chassis.... it will have a roll cage and some tubular frame support.... it would be cool to make it "street legal" but I'm not sure if that will be possible.
So.....odometer mileage really isn't an issue since I plan on yanking the engine... I just need something that will get me back to Alberta without too much problem.
I was thinking of installing a nitrous kit on the 1.6L and then seeing what parts break first to give everyone an idea of how much power they can make before blowing their engine.... and I suppose I won't need the tranny either so perhaps we will see where the input shaft shears off.
I know this probably sounds strange.... but I will have no use for the stock engine ... my engine shed is full... my forenza engine has to be stored outside because there are four 2.0L engines inside which are in various stages of being ripped apart or assembled.
After I blow the engine I would probably diassemble it and sell any of the salvageable parts.
so when you say "id just like to sell this car to someone who will take care of it" I hope your ok with what I plan to do to your car.
Look at the bright side.... odds are it will end up being the fastest Lanos on the planet.... I'm still shooting for 600whp with a 2500lb chassis.... the bigger 2.0L and tranny will weigh it down a bit even if I strip the interior.
