i want to know how you can cut the springs i know it is bad for the car but i only drive to work and back. I just want my car look more aggressive until i have enough money to get some

Just get some spring clamps, better chance if you cut to much. Specially if you just waiting for some money to roll in.

I would not recommend spring claps as they could be dangerous. Just cut your springs no more than 2 coils, you'd be set till you get the money.

i am against cutting springs. Because of the adverse affects of doing it, i reckon you'd be much safer waiting till you get the money to do it properly

acingteam what about the rear springs and yes i know its dangerous but i only drive about a block to work so i dont use my car that much and i barely ever go on the highway

then get a set of clamps instead of cutting the springs... at least you can get your car back to stock settings whenever you like.

As we discussed it long time ago... clamps might and probably will snap or come off after some time using them. Very dangerous if it happens while driving...

I've had cut springs... and when I say cut, I mean CUT. I'll post some pics later, but it was at LEAST 2 coils off. I've driven the car like that for over a year and nothing happend. And there was no signs of anything's about to happen. The only thing, is that the handling got worse and tighter.
That's why I switched to Eibach and actually raised my car about an inch.
So, I say cutting the springs is perfectly safe if you don't go crazy and cut like 3 coils off of each spring.

Regarding the rear spring... I have to check my old springs. But I'm pretty sure it's about 2 coils off of each one. I'll get back to you on that with a picture.

As you can see... they are cut pretty bad, and I had them on my car for over a year. And who knows how long they were cut before I even got the car. So I say, cutting springs isn't bad if you don't go extreme on it.

This is off-topic for the cutting of the springs. I have a set of spring clamps from Chris over at daewootech.com. However, I recently got my 17s put on and when I went to install the clamps, I could not for the life of me get the spring to compress enough to put them on. The instructions provided didn't say whether I needed any other tools other than the wrenches to fit the nuts and bolts.

Any help would be appreciated.

On a side note, as I was putting on my passenger-side rear wheel, when I torque'd my lugs with my lug wrench, I actually ended up picking up that side of the car about an inch. It was crazy, freaked my friend out too. Couldn't seem to do it again though.
