Leganza Serpentine Belt

Post by jfarthing »

After finaly nearly completing my long journey of repair on this 2000 Leganza, I'm at the final steps toward victory. When I removed the serpentine belt, I just pried it off, not knowing how it goes on or off. How do I get it back on? I know the "routing" of it, just not how to relieve the tension to get it on. Thanks.

if the A/C belt on the Leganza anything like the Lanos then you will find a little botl on the bottom side of the idler pully (thew mid pulley between the A/C compressor and the crank pulley).

this bolt moves the pully upwards or downwards so you have to turn it in the direction that makes the pully goes up so you can put on the belt then turn the bolt to the opposit direction till you get the correct belt tension.

There is a 15mm bolt on the tensioner. Find a long 15mm spanner, put it on the bolt, and turn clockwise. This will relase the pressure, and allow you to slip the belt over the tensioner pulley.
