double a-arm suspension....
well... i bought a new car... a 2k5 Toyota Corolla XRS with the TRD supercharger (had to buy it extra and put it on myself... it's for the scions though)...
anyway...
i'm converting the woo to a full race car now for solo I and solo II races with the scca as well as some of the semi-pro races. for the suspension i want to convert the front to a double a-arm with coil-over between them and the rear to a double a-arm with pull-rods. i know it's gonna be some mad fab, but do you guys thing the effort is worth it? part of the process is going to be making a steel inner-chassis for everything to mount to and i've been thinking about making it awd if i can do it easily while re-doing everything with the car. the new inner-frame will be a drift-style cage with major suspension mounts on the front and rear as well as engine mounting and transfer case, if i go awd. any comments??????? later i'll post the final design for my turbo manifold... everyone say bye bye to the egr!!!!
anyway...

egr = exhaust gas recirculation, it's used to prevent the engine from operating at a high enough temp that oxides of nitrogen aren't created...
if you introduce "used" air into the combustion chamber, then you have inert gas that is just taking up space and not burning, thus you can't get high temps inside the chamber. the egr valve is used to take some of the exhaust gas and put it back into the intake to prevent these dangerous gases from being formed. oxides of nitrogen are the main components of smog... the visible kind that is so horrible to your health. the planet would prolly be dead now if not for the egr valve on modern cars...
anywho... does anyone have any idea how much the weight of the interior, glass, and the rear suspension is? i know that's kinda weird to ask, but hey... who knows... someone might have taken it off...
