i want a nice sound from my exhaust, im getting a cat back system, but am going to ask for a suttle noise, not something silly loud. i want to be able to hear my music when i hit over 70mph, unlike some peoples cars.
let me know what you go for, and how loud it is....scale i use is
1-10
1 being standard and 10 being SO LOUD YOU CANT HEAR YOUR STEREO @ 60MPH.
im looking to get something on the scale of 3-4. what you lot recommend...if it all makes sense.

if i have my window down at 70mph i can hear my music but not that well. now if my window is up then i can still hear my exhaust but not that much. i like mine right where its at. thats why i still haven't put a tip on my muffler. i have flowmasters and before i got my body kit i had a ricer tip but when i got my body kit the exhaust was a bit off and my tip wouldn't go through the hole. so i just had them cut it off and it made a hella difference. i compare it on your scale of like a 6. my comparison would be like a little petite girl farting compared to Fat Bastard from Austin Powers farting.

When I ran my car without the resonator (middle muffler) I actually got a bogging down around 2500rpm that was awful on the ears and even worse on performance. I fit the resonator and it lowered the volume a few notches, but the tone was still there. The bogging down also disappeared, proving that back-pressure is necessary in these engines. Note however, that my car is a less freer breathing 8 valve, so you 16 valver boys may not suffer the same fate if you go straight pipe.

I took out the resonator and without the turbo it's not that bad..... my first muffler at the rear end was a flowmaster and it was crazy loud..... then I went with a magnaflow and it was way quieter (with less restriction as well
)
You get what you pay for..... flowmaster $30.... top of the line magnaflow stainless $100
