probably will trigger a CEL and the ECU will switch to a fail safe mode and your engine will run like crap.

why do you want to do that anyways??

If I disconnect my oxygen sensor I get a CEL when at higher rpm but I've never seen it while driving around normally.

Sounds like you have a bad O2 sensor circuit. It may be the sensor itself or the circuit leading to it. How old is the car? Have you ever had a blown cylinder-head gasket?

get the car scanned... you might not have a CEL but the scanner can read the sensors output values and if the technican doing that is good enough he will know if the O2 sensor's readings are off.

my mechanic did that when diagnosing my bad injectors, he said it is eather bad injectors or bad O2 sensor (i didn't have CEL)... the sensor's readings were OK on the scan tool so we confirmed the bad injectors diagnosis.
