honda D15/D16 turbo header will fit the 1.6L

Post by DomWoo »

well now that i have the honda all apart i decided to check and see if they were the same. they are almost identical in the spacing of the ports and all the bolts seem to be about the same also

the only thing that is different is the EGR port on the 1.6L

What about N/A headers? Would it be a direct (or almost direct) replacement?

now have you tried to actually put it on to see if it would fit? almost sometimes doesn't count. i'd hate to put anything honduh on my engine but hell something that important i really wouldn't care then.

That's what I was thinking by looking at pics. Even if you had to cut the flange off and weld anothe one on it would be worth it. but if it bolt's to the 1.6L head then a turbo or NA header would work. Please let us know if you actully fitted this to the 1.6L. if so I'm buying a cheapy off ebay for $25

you wouldnt have to cut the flang.. maybe get the botom holes mechined a bit but you would need to have a flang that covers the egr part of the woo engine anyways... so if you mechine the bolt holes and a flang in the front to take care of the egr port .. that might be the best bet..

all im saying is that the ports and the top holes will line up dont know about the bottom holes

I was looking at the same thing last week.... it does look very similar... I think a header could be modified fairly easily to fit the Lanos.

I didn't have a head gasket with me at the time.... I was going to scan in the patterns and compare them to see if they will work.

ok i measured the bolts.. the bottom bolts are 1/16" further down on the lanos 1.6

so if you just drilled the hole bigger it would work

So what else besides drilling the bottom holes bigger would need to be done to fit them? Turbo or N/A will fit?

well actually all the holes will need to be re drilled.. the top ones are off about 1/32" so if you re drill them all about a size bigger it should fit.. maybe
