BLACK Race Mode wheels by Speedy are finally on!! (PICS)

Post by AcingTeam »

Well guys,

Got the wheels today, put them on.
Problem though:
The hub centric rings that I bought for a civic (56.15mm) does fit in quite nicely on the hub, but the wheel doesn't fit. The wheel bore size is smaller than the Outer diameter of the hub ring (72.62mm). Perhaps I should use some kind of a sand paper and take it down a bit?

Otherwise the wheels look great!! And 40mm offset is great, no rubbing, no nothing. Shook the car as hard as possible and nothing. Isn't even close to the wheel wells, SCROLL DOWN FOR PICTURES :)

sand paper?? i don't think you can keep the ring's uniform circularty by using sand paper.

how much difference in mm are you willing to take out by the sand paper? can't you machine cut the rings you have?

Well the rings are made of hard plastic, and a local tire/wheels shop recommended to use sand paper and try to stay as circular as possible (it would still be better than not have any rings which is the case now). The wheels do wobble as soon as I let the accelerator go. I'm looking to shave about 3mm. Where would I machine cut the rings?

Yeah they look awesome. Where did you get them. I saw them in my modified mag, I am looking for wheels and tires under 600. 15's or 16's if anyone has a good place internet wise to buy. or nation-wide places...

Here is a seller that I bought these from... he's got great prices and the service is pretty good.

OK now plastic is much easyer to sand paper than metal (i thought yours are metal)

now the circularity is the main thing you have to keep here to prevent wobbling so try to install the rings on a driller or any source of rotational motion and apply the sand paper to the rotating ring... this way you can keep the circular diformty at a minimum, you can also mark the 3 mm area that you want to shave so that you know when to stop.

i hope i explained that in a good way and sorry i don't know any machine shops in the USA.

Thanks MMamdouh :) My dad said he is going to do the same exact thing as you said at his work place. (I don't have the proper tools).

On a negative note... some asshole backed into my car today at my job's parking lot and left. Now I have a 3"x3" crack in my front bumper that is bent inwards (from a trailer hitch I assume).
What sucks is that it was probably one of the customers and that we don't have any cameras outside...
How can someone hit a car and just leave?! My precious vehicle...

He probably didnt even know he hit it. I remember my dad backed into a car once, we didnt even feel it. The whole car moved about a foot and the entire drivers side was badly damaged, later when we got home we saw the marks on my dads truck and the car parked by our driverway...

That'd be called ignorance and not being able to drive... he/she got away, that's what pisses me off.
