Well.... I have installed a SAFC-II into my Optra 5 and it's working fine.
I will hopefully get it on the dyno and let everyone know if it will make any extra power with the naturally aspirated 2.0L 16V
I didn't get it for the N/A engine.... I need it for when I throw on my turbocharger since I'm going to use the factory ECU.... well.... technically it's the ECU from a Suzuki Forenza but that's a minor detail.
I will post my Dyno runs once I'm satisfied with the results.

Find out if that 7hp that the forenza has over the optra is from the ECU or do you already know for sure?

Do you have the hook up instructions. The optra and aveo have the same wiring I think using the Delphi Ecu. the one under the hood with 2 connections. I think they are K and M. I hooked one up one time, but I think I hooked it up wrong, because when I started it, the engine started surging bad, and it leaned out bad, plus it also threw a CEL. so I shut it off immeditaly and removed it and sold it. Decieded to wait for someone more experianced to do it the right way.
Aveo that moves! Now I need those cams!

Ok.... I finally got some dyno time and I'm glad to anounce that the SAFC-II works great with the Delphi management system.
Some systems don't take too well to aftermarket fuel management but this one seems to be perfectly suited.
I don't have the dyno sheets but the maximum I managed to squeeze out of the car was roughly 2whp at the top end..... which is pretty much what I figured.
The factory ECU fuel maps are actually pretty good.... up to about 4500 RPM they are nearly perfect.
After 4500rpm the air/fuel starts to richen up a little but it's not too bad.
I ended up leaning the top end out by 7% to 10% and thats when I made the extra 2whp.
Needless to say buying a SAFC-II would be a horrible investment if you have a fairly stock normally aspirated vehicle.
The SAFC-II is really only needed when a turbo is introduced or when someone does an extreemly serious "all motor" build up.
So for all you guys out there with a practically stock engine..... don't bother with aftermarket fuel management..... spend your money on something that will make you more power ( such as cams or pulleys)
Oh ya..... I allmost forgot..... the swap from the Optra ECU to the Suzuki ECU did absolutely nothing.... perhaps I made 1whp more at the top end.... but that's about it.
I also noticed that the stock automatic forenza hits fuel cut at 6250 RPM instead of the stock 6500Rpm limit my Optra ECU has.
