Sorry, but I love sony. Also, it wasn't sony's fault, it was mine. NEVER had I had a problem with a sony product in my life.

i like sony home audio, my house is full of it, but i just dont have the same affection when it comes to car audio

Never had a problem? Why, yes, you just did. The protection circuitry did not work as it is supposed to.
Therefore, you just lost the money you had invested on that amp.

Any good amp will protect itself and work again flawlessly after the output terminals have been touched together. That is what a protection circuit is for.

No, sorry, I'm not interested in the amp, but thanks anyway. :)

while the amp is no good for music anymore, it may be a very good doorstop. When a door closes, there is always a window

LOL I knew it was going to come back at me when I said that lol. Well yes you're right. It wasn't a very expensive amp to begin with.
