Everything could be coming on, that doesn't rule out the battery. Do all the lights dim when you turn it to the Start position after it clicks? I had a bad battery that held 12 V's once, still no go.

if the battery is OK then it is the solinoid (spelling??) of the starter... don't rule out lose\dirty battery connections

If it dims I'd put my money on the battery, which could be ded because of the alternator? The easiest thing to check is the battery cables to see if they are dirty or not - clean 'em anyway even if they look "clean".

it is on the engine side (fire wall direction) near the bell shaped casing where the engine meets the tranny.

well i'm at work right now so i can't check but i'm off tomorrow and i'm gonna take it to autozone to check out the alternator and battery. if the battery is shot i'm just gonna get a optima battery. i'm pissed though now. :x just hope it doesn't act up when i'm at work. when it started i did turn it off and on a couple of times to make sure it would re-start.

the starter is a real pain to get to without taking off the intake manifold.

but most likely it sounds like you have a bad battery or alternator.

Most auto parts stores will test them for free.

did you clean the poles? Make sure its a tight connection... Have someone wiggle the cables while you try to turn it over... i had to get a new terminal on my battery because the stock terminal ate away at the lead pole until it go to the point it wasn't making a good connection.... same symptoms as yours

well i've changed the terminals a few months back to gold plated and cleaned them when i did. they look clean but i'll re-clean them tonight when i get home from work. i hope its just that. the reason why i changed them to begin with is b/c it wasn't getting a good connection and it wasn't acting like it did this morning. it just didn't give me any power back then. this time stuff came on but it just didn't turn over.

Change your battery, if it isn't maintainance free, check the fluid levels and add distilled water as needed
