We finished Rim of the World!

Post by Chip »

Hey all, just wanted to let you know that our trusty Reno made it through the Rim of the World Rally. This is arguably the most brutal rally event in the US and we sailed through on the stock suspension! We will definitely be making suspension upgrades as we were limited in speed due to the softness, but we were more than impressed with how well it held up. We finished 30th out of 67 vehicles that started the race. We would have been much faster had we not blown out the right rear suspension (we actually ran on about 5-10 degrees of positive camber through two stages). Here's a pic of us cruising on the dirt...

Haha, I wish I could offer you the job, but we've got a group of people lining up at work to drive it! ;-)

I think we were rather unique as I'm pretty sure we were the only guys out there running on stock suspension. We seemed to surprise everyone by finishing the race. We did surprisingly well on the tarmac stage of the race. I think with a little suspension work and a bit more power, this car could be an auto-x champ! Some of our guys participated in an auto-x event with our bone stock reno and turned in a best time of 32 seconds, the winning Mitsu EVO posted just over 27 seconds, so not too bad.

Wow, very impressive considering stock suspension for rally! Where is rally held?
