I'd be willing to bet it'd be just a tad higher than 155hp. You are assuming they are just slapping on a turbo to a stock engine (105hp). I'm guestimating that with a properly breathing engine you can get 115hp before turbo and 175-185 after turbo and well tuned.BosnianLanos wrote:5-7 PSI is right, with about a 50 HP gain if done right, so 155 HP at the crank, maybe 130 HP at the wheels, and you have one hell of a Lanos. If you choose to go higher, you would need forged internals, but with those, the power limit would go a whole hell of a lot higher.
what are the benefits of a remot turbo?? if you are saving engine bay space then what about piping routing, weight and all??BCC423 wrote:what is all involved in a remote turbo, what parts do i need i know turbo, lost of intake tube, oil line, what all do i need for the fuel system?

Most of you guys probably think I'm trying to be a salesman, I promise you I'm not. I'm just really sold on this product, although I'm still waiting to see #'s for smaller displacement engines.BCC423 wrote:what is all involved in a remote turbo, what parts do i need i know turbo, lost of intake tube, oil line, what all do i need for the fuel system?
http://www.ststurbo.com If you have questions about remote turbo's these guys are probably the best to ask. I know their oiling systems are self-sufficient so you don't have to run oil lines back from the pan. The extra plumbing does have a wee little bit of pressure loss, but it's a negligable amount, it is listed somewhere on the site I forget where. And with the extra piping, there's no need for an intercooler, the air is cooled on it's way to the engine.

big turboes got big lag... small turboes spools fast..Brian5475E wrote:There is probaly alot of lag on a smaller turbo that you need on a smaller engine

most probably you will need a RRFPR (Rising Rate Fuel Pressure Regulator)... all the guys i saw with turbo setup got them and also lots of them are running low boost on stock ECU.BCC423 wrote:do i need* tuned ecu, or fuel sys. if i run it at a low boost? i dont much about turbos, cept they make you go fast....sorry for such a noob question
