Yeah but i dont know if that'd help anymore than just having 2.25 all the way since it eventually goes down to 2.25 anyways.
I need some info. What kinda piping do i want? What kinda welds and bends? and should i go over or under the axle?
About the axle... i love when it goes under cuz (not always.. you can go over too) you can tilt the muffler at an angle and i like the look alot but i wanna do whatevers best. I think either way the bends gonna be about the same but going under the axle would be a little less. But then what about when i jack up the car cuz then part of the suspension droops down a bit.

I love ractives muffler so i wanna stick with one. This one is overall smaller than my current one. 2.5 inlet... 3.5 tip which isnt bad.. mine now is 4
Shorter length. Yet, it still weights about the same.. and its carbon fibre. My main concern is the strenth. My current mufflers started to fall apart, im not sure why... maybe heat ? cuz it always seams to be after a race it gets worst. Lots of leaks are appearing.

A pop sound now comes out from under my hood. It did it twice.. both times i was in 5th slowing down a bit then i put the gas into it about half throattle and it did it. Check for a crack in your exhaust manifold, it is very possible since you do Auto-X and you heat up your car quite a bit and drive it like crazy, it wouldn't be too much of a problem to crack a weld in your exhaust manifold if it is kept at a constantly high temp. and in demanding conditions. I don't think I would worry about the interior of the engine if the exhaust was popping, it is probabally a flaw in the system.

I didnt get a chance to check but i will tomorrow.
Exhaust did another thing.. I turned onto traffic thinking everything was okay.. well the exhaust started popping again and caused the car to kinda putter a little bit. Made acclerating kinda difficult
It seams to have problems after the exhaust was hot. Like i always have problems the day after a race or a few hours after i was on the freeway at 80mph for two hours. Im going to jack the car up tomorrow and check it out better. I race again Friday so i hope its okay

Jacked the car up.. put soapy water on the exhaust then turned it on. Theres a tiny leak before the muffler but its nothing.. but then on the muffler
damn. The things falling apart...
Looks like im gonna have the exhaust redo next week... i doubt i have time today to find a realiable shop then do it (i work in two hours).
Im waiting for it too cool a bit to check the headers to see if thats where the pop came from when it came from the front of the car

Maybe water is accumulating in your exhaust causing it to rust, poor exhaust flow due to the rust and holes could very easily cause your exhaust to pop, under the hood or whereever, they need to make a tip that doesn't allow so much water to get in. Thats why I laugh when I see ricer boys with their dual tip muffler angled upwards in a Florida rainstorm. The life cycle of that muffler is one season of rain :twisted:

I like when i muffler is angled upwards if its a single like 3-4inch tip (depending on the car).. thats what i plan to do. It doesnt rain here much either so i dont have to worry about that.. although we get monsoons in the summer but i dont think it'd be a big problem. The tip of the muffler wouldnt stick out either

Don't the full cat-back exhaust systems come like that? From like Greddy, HKS, etc really reputational companies. Wouldn't they have figured out the problem? if your exhaust isn't hot enough to evaporate the water, or fast enough to blow it out... you need that fixed anyway. water isn't really a major concern in your exhaust from the tailpipe anyway. besides that... if you have an aftermarket exhaust is should be stainless, which doesn't matter in that case...

Really big, obnoxious mufflers that stick out like a sore thumb on an otherwise stock car. I'm sure they fill up with rain in a nice downpour, how would someone prevent that? Even regular mufflers can fill up with moisture and rust right through, just like my stock Daewoo muffler. Haven't you ever seen when a car starts up moisture comes out of the exhaust, well, let it sit there for a few days and condense and you could have problems, water on bare steel.
