Need a Final decition...

Post by FaWEeToO »

Hi there, this is my first time writing in this forum, but i`ve been reading all of the awsome stuff you wrote guys, its been a real help.

back to the topic! tomorrow morning i`m going to install a custom made high flow exhaust on my 99 1.6 16V Lanos, but the thing is i'm not sure what size should i go with. should i go with 2.25" or 2.5" ?

thanks in advance,

personally... i would go 2.25. i don't think you really be able to notice the difference in the two, but that is plenty big enough to up the horses. that's my thoughts anyway... 8)

Thanks for the fast reply guys, one more thing though...
I might go for a 2.0 or 2.2 engine swap after the summer, should i keep it the same size?

yeah you would still be fine there. now if you already had the 2.2l swap i would say 2.5 but 2.25 would be good to for all three engines.

keep it simple, a 2' should be fine, remember its only a 1.6. When i got my exhaust done 5 out of 6 places i called to get quotes said i should get a 2' on my 2L because any bigger is just noise with no extra gain. 2.5' would be just too big. My brothers 5L ute and my commodore have 2.5' exhausts and they are bigger motors..........

Thanks for the advice "woo" but i just came back from the garage with a 2.25" and it rocks!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! first i removed both resonators, it was loud like hell! but with some rethinking i`ve decided to put back on one of them...

now its nicly loud, much much much more responsive and fast! its like i threw 10 tons of weight out of it. ITS MOVING AGAIN :D

I'd get a magnaflow Resonator, they sound really good. And what exhaust do you have?
