how to open the injectors' valve??

Post by MMamdouh »

does any one know how to make an injector to open using some electrical current?? How strong should it be? Volts, Amps and polarity stuff??

i want to keep the damn thing open while i spray WD 40 in it to clean the valve's seat but i don't know how to open it electrically.

you can just hook it up the the battery and they will open, if u are going to use it on a turo setup, what u could do is use a pressure switch that came with nos kits, and then use that, so when it reaches a certain boost pressure, it closes the circuit, then u are good, but the injector will run constant, it will not pulse, jsut make sure u know that. Just do some searching for some injector controllers, and u need to know if they will control both high and low impedence injectors as u are not sure what u have.

well i am not going to use my injectors on a turbo setup... i just want to force them open to spray some cleaner through them as they are dirty and leaking gas.

according to what you said here i just need to hook the injector to a 12Volt source and it will open up? regardless of the amps or polarity?? i got a transformer at home that cam pump 12 Volts but only 8amps so will that work? and what about polarity?

it was circulated that Daewoo got low impedance injectors... no idea what is the difference between those and high impedance injectors.

thanks for the help man

I think that the polarity doesn't matter, I am not sure on this, but why not get the injectors professionally cleaned and tested, it shouldn't cost that much to do it, and then you will be safe. As far as I know, the injectors in the nubira are high impedence. Low impedence injectors have a resistor box mounted in the engine bay, as they can't be run by the computer. THis looks somewhat like a heatsink off of a computer processor. It is just a box, with like 6 wires coming from it, (depending on the # of cylinders) but as far as I know, it would be better to have fuel runinng through the injectors as that is what keeps them from overheating, the fuel going throguh the injectors cools them down. I would get them done professionally, but that is just me. Well good luck, and tell us how it works out

i got some spare time and an old injector to play with and i tried to hook it to a 12V source... it opened the injector regardless of the polarity and my max ampers where some 8 amps only.

thanks to every one who helped.

When I was doing research for my turbo project I found out that our injectors are designed by Rochester, a company now absorbed by AC Delco.

Injectors are fairly simple so it shouldn't take more than 12 volts to open them.
